Chaney Family Collection

I was fortunate to meet Robert & Jereann Chaney at the first art fair my gallery, Marx & Zavattero, participated in: Scope Miami in 2004. I was struck by this couple’s curiosity and enthusiasm; they were bold in their taste and acquired works by emerging artists and became committed to these artists throughout the years. The Chaney Family Collection is one of this country’s foremost collections of the art and technology of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Among the collection’s strengths is its generous representation of today’s preeminent Asian artists, exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, in 2007, in the exhibition RED HOT – Asian Art Today from the Chaney Family Collection for which Michael Arcega’s Terrorice (AK-47, Cellphone, and Grenade) was featured. The Chaney Family Collection also features work from the revolutionary Young British Artists (YBA) group of the 1990s and many leading contemporary artists today.
